The Vermount center seems to be having problems with their online system. I am in same boat as you, I have got the receipt for my H1 Extn but the System doesn't show up the receipt. You cannot rely on the online system or phone system to get your status update since they both share same data and both haven't been updated.

How will removing country limits help China, India and ROW.
Has someone done any calculations on visa date movement.
We should have some comparison on this because some of us from China against. I seen many ROW against.
Does it help only Indians or everyone by how much?
I see these calculations bringing Indians, Chinese and ROW together.
the truth is this.... some of the chinese are against removal of country limits becoz they do not care if it helps them..... they r simply opposed to removal of per country limits becoz they cannot see india getting any benefit..... its the age old chinese mindset which cannot be changed with numbers or calculations...... otherwise just think for u'rself...... if china is retrogressed as evident from monthly visa bulletin .... & removal of per country limits will create 1 queue for everyone..... then y would some of these chinese be opposed to the removal of per country limits.....

I am currently working on OPT. My company has just applied for my H1B visa. Assuming it gets approved in 2-3 months time (i.e. in March), when can i have it stamped? Can i go back to my home country to get it stamped in April or will i have to wait till 1st Oct 2011 to get it stamped?
What is the starting date on your H1-B petition?
You cannot get a VISA stamp earlier than within 20 days of the start date (I actually do not recall if it is 20 days or 15 days -- but it is around that many days).

Gurus please advise,
I have a H1b with Company A. It expires in Nov 08.
A couple of months ago I joined company B and they transferred my H1B.
Now if I want to go back to Company A, do I need to transfer my H1B again?
Company A has not cancelled my H1 and I am in good terms with them.

U R better off rescheduling your mexico appointment - its something that could be done within next 3 to 4 months for sure. The problem of rescheduled FP is, it kind of throws your case in the back and based on ASC's load, it might take them upto an year or more (think 800,000) for them to put you in again.
Its just my opinion based on my conversation with my lawyer - since we were in S. Africa and my lawyer notified me about the FP and my lawyer blurted out what I said above.

No it cannot be used as its already expired. You will need a new employer for filing a new h1.

Not sure if I will make the category, but feel that I should consult with a good immigration attorney and explore the option. Who knows? I wish there was a category for people who were doing the work that directly improved the lot of the American people. Not-for-profit is not lucrative nor glamorous, so there should be some incentives :)

Dear Friends,
I am in my 5th year H1b, my past efforts for GC have messed up. Now i am waiting for PERM withdrawal since Jan 09 to file a NEW PERM. Even if i am able to file a new PERM application by this month or next, what are the chances of getting it approved looking at the current scenario of economy and job market? :confused:

i have a valid H1 visa on my passport till 14th dec 2007. yesterday i got the new I-797 with I-94(I-94 dates are mentioned as 15th Dec 2007 to 14th Dec 2010). Since my visa is expiring on 14th Dec 2007, I want to go for stamping before Dec 2007 to Nogales (i have some travel plans in Jan 2008). When can i go for(how soon) stamping. I am planning to go this sept. CAn I ?????

My wife had concived for 3 days in June. During immigration medical exams Doctor gave her MMR shots and stated don't get pregnant for another 3 months.
After 15 days, We came to know that she is pregnant.
last week my wife had miscarriage after 18 weeks of pregnancy. Not sure it's because of MMR or something else.
can't comment on the connection between MMR and MC but whatever may be the reason a MC is always very painful ... we also had gone thru the same agony and pain last year though the reason for MC was unrelated than yours ... this year we are blessed with a baby boy .... do follow the OBGY's advice and if suggested do the D&C (personal opinion offcourse but it was a great help for us) ..
will wait for the good news from your guy's side in next couple of month's time ...

Well, One of the companies I worked in the past used Morganlewis's service and I heard good reviews. I dint know they attend to individual cases as well.

On this case, I am getting mixed anwsers
Employer's lawyer is saying that i can continue to work since have valid I-94 and they are going to appeal. Lawyer called USCIS officers and USCIS officers confirmed this ( !!!).
Second lawyer is saying that i should stop working on denied petition.
Once you apply for appeal or motion your H1B peition status changed from 'Denied' to 'Pending' and you may continue to work for employer. - this is my guess
In fact, I am planning to get advice from murhty too...
Any thoughts on this.
