Hi Everyone,
I've got couple of questions.
1. I'm on F1 and got pregnant. Can i take a break for sometime and get back to studies?
2. My husband is a GC holder..well we got married after he got GC ( i know what you guys must be thinking :-))...now can he apply for a family based GC for me, i kind of know that it takes atleast 4 yrs for me to get GC...but just wanted to make sure that he can apply while i'm on F1...pls share your views...

Hi folks
We have applied for COS for my wife from H4 - F1, and yesterday we got approval.
(TOOK ONE MONTH APPROX),
Now the question is,
I AM AWARE THAT SHE HAS TO GET STAMPED IF SHE TRAVELS TO INDIA, BUT what if she travels to India, when on OPT status????
Any seniors had experienced the same situation?????????

Does anyone know what email / letter(s) one should get when the GC is approved ?
I received this email two days ago:
On November 13, 2006, a welcome notice was mailed for this case. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice. Please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 during business hours.
Does this constitute as a GC approval ?
I read in other threads that a "card ordered" email follows the GC approval but I haven't received the email (nor the physical card yet).
Does it normally take 1 or more weeks for the physical card to arrive after approval ?

I have sent in my I-140 + 485.. SO i hope that they accept the 140s atleast... I hope they dont outright refuse the boxes... Atleast I haven't seen anythin about refusal on UPS website yet ..
Just read that if you have sent one check for 1-140 & 485 then the whole package will be returned and you would have to refile your I140. If you have sent separate checks then they will just return the I485 part of your package.

I'm in same boat, upgraded to PP on June 1. your new status of I140 will be "We received request for PP".
For H1's Ext its the same receipt number . I think for 140 it will be the same .I subscribed to the notification of case status and i received an update oon the case saying the Premium processing requested for the petition

Yes the bottom line is you have to withdraw one. In my case, I have to write in letter to USCIS in Nebraska becase I did self-filing. I've spoken to an agent a while ago. She said withdrawal will not affect my other I-485. Consult with your attorney. I already have a finger printing appointment next week so I'm goin to withdraw the I-485 receipt from Nebraska.

Hello,
My original H1B visa was issued to me on Oct 1st, 2010 and is valid till Sep 30th 2010.
I got a new job in 2009 and they applied for my H1 transfer. It was approved and the new dates on the new I797 are 10/01/2009 till 09/17/2012. I went to India after that and when I returned, I got a new I-94 off course which was stamped to be valid until Sep 30th 2010.
Now I am nearing the end of my original H1B visa issued by my previous employer and stamped on my passport this coming October. I am also planning to go to India in this coming June. Will I will have to get my visa renewal stamping done this time if I go to India? Will I need a new H1B stamp on my passport from my new employer on my passport to come back?
I really appreciate any words of wisdom from all you learned people on this forum. Thanks in advance!

You probably have to get your passport stamped for visa renewal.

My PD is 08/04/06, and my AP is expiring on June 2nd, I probably will have to travel sometimes June end. I am in a fix if I should go ahead and apply for Ap now. My PD will be current begining June 1st. I heard it may take 1 week to 60 days to get GC after your date becomes current, Do you guys think it's good idea to just apply for AP just in case?

You may apply for AP at any time right? If you apply now, it is very unlikely that you will receive before your June end travel. And if you don't get your GC in june what will you do ? see, it is very easy to ask confusing questions. :)

I start to study WOM, my district court web doesn't list anything about that, then I find aonther site lists WOM cases filed in my district, but no status mentioned. Does anyone knows? I appreciate!
